Traditional weight loss formula given a modern twist, courtesy of Kate Moss … WWKMD?

“Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.” – Kate Moss reveals a motto to WWD.

Cue thousands of impressionable females (and males) developing eating disorders. But I find a lot of the backlash she’s received for her statement is undeserved. Isn’t this motto just another way of stating one of the most widely used weight loss formulas available calories in < calories out?  I understand this isn’t the healthiest ways of conveying the message, but it is Kate Moss we’re talking about.

As such, Kate’s apparently simple philosophy is wonderfully advanced and extremely timely. To every action there is a consequence, that is all she is saying. But it is something that is being increasingly forgotten in our instant-gratification, bling-bling, X Factor, fizzy pop, white-bread world. Kate owes all she has to her shape, and she accepts the acts of denial on which that shape depends… Kate is only being honest. She is admitting that to look the way she does she has to eat less.

And by this nicely spun logic used by the Times Online, Kate’s statement actually serves as a lesson to that impressionable youth – in order to achieve a goal, you must work at it; each action has a consequence and each action requires a conscious decision.

Kate Moss is the 5’7” 105lb. model that started the ultra-thin waif look. She is known for being exceptionally thin – not the normal Hollywood thin, but the unnaturally supermodel thin. For Kate, her motto makes sense – and thankfully I can now go to sleep assured that she too must work at keeping her body, well the size that brings in her income.

While I don’t endorse/suggest/recommend anyone starving him or herself to achieve a slender figure, I do acknowledge the concept of actively working towards your goal. There is something to be said for delayed gratification, especially when it comes to one’s physique – no fat-blasting drug, supplement or miracle machine can magically transform your body in mere days, nor is whatever you’re injecting into your body safe.

Infuse a healthy mindset and goal and make Kate’s thin-spiration work for you. If you find yourself asking if you should hit the gym after work even though you’re tired… yes, think WWKMD? Because even she has to work at keeping her body.

Love the Kate Moss article!

Though she certainly didn’t deserve that backlash, I think its important to point out that Kate herself hasn’t always relied on the old fashioned way of weight loss. Coke kills your appetite fast.
