Lots of opportunities to get fit for a cause this weekend in NYC!

Friday, April 17th

What: Midnight Yoga

Where: Laughing Lotus Yoga Center

When: 10pm-midnight

Why: Yoga you way into Saturday with a yoga class and “special guest” as the website says. The April 17th class is taught by Alison O’Connor and will feature Matt Irvin on guitar and trumpet.

Saturday, April 18th

What: Concern for Hunger fun run/walk

Where: Central Park, 103 street and East Drive

When:  9:30am

Why: Get fit while joining the fight against hunger. Each year, Concern Worldwide US kicks off spring with the 4 mile Fun Run/Walk in Central Park to help make a difference in the lives of the nearly one billion men, women and children who literally go to bed hungry every night.

What: Part 1 of the Two Part Pilates Series with Equinox

Where: lululemon athletica East 66th (1127 Third Avenue)

When:  8:45-9:45am

Why: Because Pilates makes the body look and feel good. They claim that the class is “a fusion of Pilates and circle work that will challenge every part of your body and leave you feeling strong and aligned.”

Sunday, April 5

What: Seventh Annual Run as One, Present by JPMorgan Chase

Where: Central Park, start is at East Drive near 68th street

When:  4mile race begins at 9am, 1.3mile health walk at 9:20am

Why: Join the fight against lung cancer with this 4-mile race or walking 1.3 miles to honor former Chase Manhattan Bank chairman and nonsmoker Tom Labrecque.

What: Bootcamp

Where: lululemon athletica, Union Square location

When:  9:30-10:30am

Why: Every Sunday in April Lululemon is offering you a high intensity workout to spring into the new season. All events are complimentary, just bring comfy workout clothes and tennis shoes. This Sunday’s workout is provided by Bootcamp Republic (instructed by Tanya Chaly) and will provide a high intensity workout that combines cardiovascular conditioning and strengthening exercises.
